    • Add Action Group Left click and hold on a state node. Drag the mouse left or right onto the background. A preview of the new link(s) and node(s) will appear. Release the left button to create the new graph elements.
    • Add change Node Left click and hold on a state node. Drag the mouse left or right onto another state node. A preview of the new flow link(s) and change node will appear. Release the left button to create the new graph elements.
    • Add Flow Link Left click and hold on a node. Drag the mouse onto a node of a different type. A preview of the new link will appear. Release the left button to create the new flow link.
    • Add Scope Link(s) Right click and drag to bring up the select box. Hilight a node at the beginning or ending of the flow. If the node has no next nodes, the "rise" button will appear, so click that. If the node has no previous nodes, the "dive" button will appear, so click that. The new scope link will be created.
    • Add State Node Left click and hold on a change node. Drag the mouse left or right onto the background. A preview of the new flow link and state node will appear. Release the left button to create the new graph elements.
    • Change Figure Applicable to nodes, not links. There is no default figure. In node details, click on the figure line in the left field. Select either "load" or "snap". If snap doesn't produce the right picture, click "set" and change the capture area. Snap captures images as GIFs at the screen resolution. Howstr Desktop Beta does not generate new versions of the images in figure tags as thumbnails. Click "X" to throw away the change and click "✔" to commit the image.
    • Change Memo Applicable to nodes, not links. Default memo is blank. In node details, click on the memo line in the left field. Type the new memo into the right field. Click the "X" in Node Details to throw away the title or click the "✔" to commit it to the node.
    • Change Title Applicable to nodes, not links. The default title is blank. In Node Details, click on the title line in the field on the left. Type the new title into the field on the right. A title is limited to 140 characters. This will be used to represent the node pretty much everywhere. Click the "X" in Node Details to throw away the title or click the "✔" to commit it to the node.
    • Change Weight Applicable to links, not nodes. In node details, select one of the in (above the line) or out (below the line) links in the left field. Change the weight multiplier in the right field. Click the "X" in Node Details to throw away the title or click the "✔" to commit it to the node.
    • Clear Figure In node details, if the node has an image in the figure tag, then the clear button will appear. Click clear to remove the image. Click "X" to throw out that change or "✔" to commit it.
    • Expand Figure In node details, if the preview of the image isn't detailed enough, click expand. The image will open in its own window. Use the "+" and "-" keys to zoom. Drag the image to reposition. Click "X" to close the window.
    • Export Instructions/Resources Click the appropriate export button. An up-to-date version of the instructions/resources will be generated, saved, and launched in your browser.
    • Insert Action Group Left click and hold on a node. Drag the mouse left or right onto an adjacent node. A preview of the new flow link(s) and action group node(s) will appear. Release the left button to create the new graph elements.
    • Install Unnecessary. Howstr Desktop Beta is a standalone that can be run from anywhere.
    • Load Project Click the load button. Navigate to the folder of the project you want to open, go into the folder, and select the *.how file.
    • Open Node Details Left click on a node and you will see the preview image. Release the left mouse button to open the node details window.
    • Remove Link(s) Left click and drag to bring up the selection box. Make the selection box cross over the link(s). The link(s) will highlight and the "hide" button will appear. Release the right mouse button and left click the "hide" button.
    • Remove Node(s) Left click and drag to bring up the selection box. Make the selection box cross over the node(s). The node(s) and any attached links will highlight and the "hide" button will appear. Release the right mouse button and left click the "hide" button.
    • Run Start the Howstr Desktop Beta executable. When the main window opens it will automatically create a bare minimum canonical project. If you ever want a new or fresh bare minimum project just close and re-run teh application.
    • Install Unnecessary. Howstr Desktop Beta is a standalone that can be run from anywhere.
    • Save Project Click the save button. If the project hasn't been saved to a file before it will work like save as. Howstr manages all of the files related to the project for you, so all you need to do is give the project a unique filename.
    • Scroll Miscellaneous Pool If one or more nodes appear in the misc pool then the scroll buttons will appear. Click the arrows pointing left to move the pool left. Click the arrows pointing right to move the pool right.
    • Set Capture Area In node details, click on "set." Drag the edges/corners of the capture area window to reposition. The dark area on the inside of the window will be captured. Click teh "✔" to set the new capture area.
    • Uninstall Unnecessary. Howstr Desktop Beta is not installed.
